Clothing and Equipment Needs:

Items You don't need to Buy:

  • Flag (already comes sewn onto shirt)

  • Troop Number (1)

  • Shoulder Loops

  • Neckerchief (with Troop logo)

  • Nametag

  • Troop Hat (this item is earned by the Scout, through participation)

  • Rank Advancement Badge (presented at Court of Honor ceremonies)

  • Badge of Office (presented at Court of Honor ceremonies)

Items You'll need to Buy:

  • Scout World Crest Emblem

  • Council Patch (Cradle of Liberty)

  • Green Scout Pants and/or Shorts

  • Green Scout Socks

  • Belt and Buckle

  • Good Hiking Boots

  • Troop t-shirt (used for Class B / Activity Uniform)

Additional Items You May Want to Consider for Gifts:

  • Camp Chair

  • Compass

  • Day Pack for hiking

  • Flashlight

  • Foot Locker for summer camp

  • Mess Kit

  • Nalgene Water Bottle

  • Pocket knife

Time to Sew?

Patches can either be sewn on, or can be attached using an adhesive product available from the scout shops.

Where to Purchase Items:

  • You can visit one of the Scout Stores in person, or visit the official online scout shop at http://www.scoutstuff.org.

  • For hiking boots and other equipment, check out a local hiking or outdoor activity store. Although any store that assists with appropirate selection and proper fit is good, local ones to to check out. If you know exactly what you want, online outfits are great too!

  • Troop 1 (check out the order form, and hand in to an adult leader)

Troop Items

The following items are initially supplied by the Troop. Replacements are purchased directly from the Troop:

  • Hat ($10)

  • Neckerchief ($15)

  • Nametag ($7)

In addition, other items with the Troop logo (either BSA or Jerome the Gnome) can be purchased several times a year, including the Troop t-shirt.
